Christians Need to Stop This

A Deadly Mistake Christians Make

One of the most deadly traps known is the comparison trap and Christians are not exempt from this.

I’ve even fallen into this trap myself so I’ll be the first one to take accountability.

According to 1 Peter 4:10 and 1 Corinthians 12, we are each born with individual gifts and placed in different roles.

Reason being? To serve Jesus with our talents and to serve the Body of Christ.

In a perfect world, serving one another wholeheartedly would be an easy feat.

Since this is a non-perfect world, it’s easy for envy, jealousy, and pride to make its way into our hearts and minds, even as Believers.

We will compare ourselves to others and become discouraged.

We will work diligently for the Lord then become demoralized because there isn’t immediate fruit.

We will produce 2x the fruit then become discouraged when we see a fellow brother or sister in Christ produce 10x more.

This is kind the exact behavior the devil wants from us.

We must wake up.

We must stop the comparison trap.

There will always be people who are more gifted in certain aspects.

There will always be people who produce more fruit.

But, this means there will also always be people who are less gifted and will produce less fruit.

It still doesn’t matter.

Focus solely on your role in the Body of Christ and improve your gifts to the best of your abilities.

We need each other’s gifts to be whole as the Kingdom of God.

Remember the analogy of the working body in 1 Corinthians 12:12-31.

There is no part of the body that’s better than the others.

Each part is important for the workings of the entire body.

Remember to not make the deadly mistake many Christian’s make.
