Give God Your Best Effort

A few weeks ago, Timothée Chalamet won Best Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Leading Role Award at the Oscars.

He then gave one of the best acceptance speeches.

“I want to be one of the greats. I am inspired by the greats.”

Hearing this gave me the fuel and spark of inspiration I needed.

Striving to be your best is biblical.

 “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31

We must give God our best efforts. He’s given us life and sacrificed his own Son. It is an insult to Him if we give anything less.

God is not looking for perfect results. His love for us will never be based on works.

Whether you win an Oscar or not, that doesn’t matter to Him.

What does matter to Him is that you give Him your first and best effort.

Whatever you strive to do or become, His expectation is that you represent His Kingdom well.

It doesn’t matter the title you hold either.

You can be single or married. You can have 10 kids or none. You can be an intern or CEO. Just work to become the best YOU.

Another thing to point out is that Timothée spoke about being inspired, not intimidated, by the greats.

There will always be people that are better than us in certain areas.

Remember to be INSPIRED not intimidated by them. Just keep working hard.

Your pursuit will get rewarded. And remember, our greatest reward is eternity.
