Would You Do This To Get Your Dream Life?

The Hardest Chapter in Any Journey:
Verses of the Day:
“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the Lord rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand.” - Zechariah 4:10
“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much, and whoever is dishonest with very little will also be dishonest with much.” -Luke 16:10
Hypothetically speaking, if you told people that they could have any dream they desired, but it would require 15+ years of eating dirt, most people will take this deal.
Even if you told them that the outcome is 100% assured, they still most likely wouldn’t do it. Why? Because people do not want to experience what is known as the “mundane period.”
The mundane period is a period of severe delayed gratification.
It’s the toughest period for most because it means you are depositing today’s work for an outcome in the future that you cannot physically see yet nor know when it will come.
As a fitness coach and content creator, I can attest to how God will often test your patience during the mundane period but what I remember is that I am not alone. And neither are you. We have Him and we have our community to lean on.
We also have different biblical examples of prominent characters who experienced the exact same situation.
How did you think Joseph felt when he had to spend 12 years in prison before being exalted as King?
How do you think David felt when he was forced into hiding by King Saul knowing that he was anointed as a future king?
How about Jesus? What do you think he felt when he did not start his earthly ministry until age 30, soon becoming the ultimate sacrifice that saved humanity?
What do all of these men have in common?
They all had to wait. Just like us.
Do not be discouraged when waiting because it is necessary.
God uses our waiting as a time of preparation and sometimes even redirection.
Think about if you received everything you ever desired all at once, there’s a chance you could be overwhelmed with it all.
Think about what you desired at each stage of your life. I’m confident each of our desires have changed at least once since childhood and for often good reason since when we seek God, our desires from the flesh lessen.
“An inheritance claimed too soon will not be blessed at the end.” -Proverbs 20:21
Remember that your character is built during the waiting periods.
Don’t despise it while you are there but instead, embrace it and be intentional about becoming the best child of God that you can be.
Watch how this reframing will help you expedite the process to your dream life.
Ending Prayer:
“Lord, please help me apply Philippians 1:6 that says, “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Not only are you building my character spiritually, but also you are building my character to complete the mission that you have set before me during my time on earth. Please help me to exhibit patience in the “mundane period”, knowing that you’ll come through with the promise to give me a hope and a future. Give me the strength to continue waiting so I can one day complete your mission for my life.
Amen.”
