Are you willing to trust God like Forrest?
Verse of the Week
“But Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him.” Jeremiah 17:7
I just had one of the most incredible weekends in recent memory.
My lovely girlfriend and I drove over 2 hours to see an amazing Christian artist, Forrest Frank, perform all of his hit songs live on his Child of God Tour.
One of my favorite parts of the concert was when Forrest shared his backstory on how he began making Christian music.
One moment stuck out to me the most…
“I almost retired making music.”
This shocked me.
Prior to him making Christian music, Forrest had massive success in the pop music scene with his group, Surfaces. One of their songs is almost at 1 billion streams on Spotify.
“God told me to make Christian music, but I didn’t want to ruin the pure connection we had, so I made music privately but never released anything. At one point, I even asked my wife if she was ok with me going back to corporate.”
But after moments of prayer, he decided to trust God with his new direction and released his first Christian single, “No Longer Bound.”
That song peaked at #50 on the Billboard Hot 100.
As a Christian artist, it’s extremely hard to break into the mainstream. There have only been a handful to do so.
Yet Forrest did it on his first try.
How?
Because he trusted God. He sought out God’s guidance through prayer and then obeyed what he believed God’s calling was for his life.
Now he is reaping the benefits from that decision, even more than he ever thought or dreamed of.
The message of his story is powerful because the opposite is also true.
By not seeking out God’s guidance and obeying Him, you will miss out on what He created you on this earth to be.
What a tragedy.
But this doesn’t need to be your story.
Are you willing to trust God like Forrest?
Seek God’s guidance through prayer, worship music, reading your Bible, or attending Church, etc..
Then, the moment you feel the nudge by God to do something, act on it.
You will always reap the benefits.
